Japan Earthquake — RE:sponse
There is little that can be said. But there is much that can be done. Here we know little of the real priorities that exist now and lie ahead, but beyond money (if directed to the right folk and applied well) it is possible that there are more tangible things that are also possible may make a worthy contribution.
Those two in the picture are now in their mid-teens. That tent is as good as new. If ever there was a rainy day it might be useful for, now may be the time. Junkk is seeking ways, and means to connect folk with similar donations that may be of help — here.
The dilemma is doing what's best, providing what's really needed. Both take time when circumstances don't offer that luxury.

New Year, New Broom.. We're Baaaaaack!
A lot has happened in the last year. Despite the sad events highlighted above, there has also been much that has really added to the Junkk site. Ideas, suggestions, etc. Fun stuff.
We'll aim to to make the next edition as positively packed with all we've found... or been told.... promise.
We know there are many more who have signed up, and we hope we have not lost too many by not staying in touch. Do remember to advise us if you change the email you registered with, or we are destined to be consigned to being absent friends:(
Also, we are working on the double opt-in registration, as many have signed up, but spam filters/firewalls have prevented confirmation. In the interim, we've approved manually... and with luck those that have been will not notice the difference.
Too much, too urgent to dally further. Until the next one...

Irene Martin - 8 Jan 2011 - RIP
Junkk is a very small family... literally. The reason we have been off the proactive radar for so long was in no small measure to the lovely lady above. Our Matriarch of Thrift.
A true believer in all that Junkk.com could do, as much time as we had spare was devoted to making her last year as comfy as possible. A long life. A good life. One lived to the full. And well.
She would want Junkk to continue to share all we can, with all we can, to make the world a slightly better place.
In her honour, and memory, we'll try.

Moving On
It took a global tragedy to knock us out of our private inertia following a protracted period of sad distraction, but there is so much good out there, we are motivated again to find it... and share it. Like IDEAS!!!
If you have anything you think others might benefit from reading in future pages... let us know!
